After a day that started 7am in Orlando Florida, flight to Miami, from Miami to Honduras, and from there flying on the smallest airplane I ever seen and a quick stop at another city we landed on the Island of Roatan. A local taxi was waiting for me at this joke of an airport and after a 20 min very crazy drive through the mountains (thank god for queen of the dessert last year no crazy drive scares me again) we made it to the Paradise Beach Club resort. And even in the dark I can tell I really did make it to paradise.
The weather is perfect. Cool breeze is blowing and you can hear the ocean waves. I haven’t eaten all day and I am sitting here chewing on a pizza the size of my head. I am sitting on a dock by a pool that is just beautiful. My room is on the 3rd floor with a balcony and is designed very modern and cool.
On the way here I met the coolest woman. She has to be in her late 60s’, early 70’s. She is British but lived in Canada for the past 15 years. She is a doctor and also a pilot (!!!) and she travels all over the world doing missionary work. What killed me was when we got here and said goodbye (she is staying in a different resort) we made plans to have dinner one of the nights and I asked her name. Her name is Joyce…go figure I almost started crying. I was thinking of my good friend Joyce who passed away recently from the moment I met her.
Good night from the Island of Roatan, Hoduras. Live life - Rinat
