Roatan day 3

Woke up at 5:30am and realized the sun was already up. So I went jogging for an hour on the beach. No one there, just me and the water. Got back and went to breakfast, from there back to the beach to my chair that was waiting for me to do some more sun bathing. Hung out with a nice couple I met and then we all went snorkeling over the biggest reef of the island.

We swam over the reef deep into the ocean and then the ground just dropped into a big hole in the middle of the reef. And I am just snorkeling around that big hole seeing all the incredible fish and coral life with these bright incredible colors and all I can hear is me breathing. The definition of peace.

I was thinking that when I was The inhouse photographer for the Walt Disney Imagineers One of the projects I worked on was the “finding Nemo” exhibit and that now I truly understand how that exhibit depict the underwater life. I had no idea until I snorkeled for the first time what its really like. It’s a whole new world down there, just incredible.

Back to working on the tan, had lunch at the bar on the beach again (grilled fish just so good) and back to the room to shower and change. Going sunset horseback riding tonight, and after that out with my new friend Lori from the Roatan Tourist Info Center. We are going to meet with Jenn Pate from Tropical Bliss Weddings & Events. She is a destination weddings coordinator on the island of Roatan and would like to speak to me about photographing destination weddings.

Just another day in paradise – Rinat

P.S.

I told Matt I knew he was traveling alone, he asked how I knew. I said: “the middle of your back is burned”. That area that one cannot reach to put sun screen on…mine is burned, too:-)
