Young Wedding

Coming all the way from England to sunny Florida, Lucy & Ross were not expecting hurricane Ike as one of their wedding guest. Well, it turns out Ike had a better wedding to crash in Texas, but thanks to his outer bands it was still quite a windy day. So windy in fact that David, the florist, had to tape down the flowers and isle runner. So windy that during the Palace’s roof top ceremony Lucy’s veil was furiously blowing in the wind so frantically I was concerned she was going to go airborne.

Thankfully the ceremony went without a hitch, as did the rest of their special day. We went to the Disney Polynesian Resort for some beach portraits, and continued to the Disney Contemporary Resort for a delicious rooftop dinner.

Surrounded by their 23 guests who flew in from England to share the wedding bliss Lucy & Ross were showered with love. Speeches were made, gifts were exchanged, and the beautiful castle cake was cut. For the cherry on top, we all went out to the balcony watching the fireworks show over the Disney Magic Kingdom Palace.

Spending the day with the Young’s and their extended family was a joy. As it happened often (yet I still sincerely appreciate it every time), they treated me like family, and I enjoyed sharing some laughs with Lucy’s father, two brothers and their girlfriends whom I was sitting with at the dinner table. And when dad invited me to come to England to photograph Lucy & Ross’s reception everyone was laughing as I answered I can come, but expect jewelry! (Read the Johnston wedding blog for the jewelry reference).

Just another beautiful day at the magic kingdom, where all your dreams come true, and Lucy & Ross became Mr. & Mrs. Young. Happy Ever after!
