Gordon Wedding

Jennifer, Ricky and I connected immediately the first time we met. And somewhere between Ricky telling me about his Jewish grandparents & Jennifer going gaga over the sample albums we knew I would be the perfect photographer for their wedding.

As I started snapping shots of the flowers arriving in Jennifer’s room Jen pulled out two boutonnieres “these” she said “are for you and your assistant”. Well – that was a first for me, as the surprise must have shown on my face Jen added: “you’re special to us”. As if I didn’t love these two already – now I loved them even more.

In the midst of the hectic preparations in the bride’s room as the bridesmaids figured out a creative way to iron their dresses while wearing them, photographing their cute shoes & helping Jen get into her dress without messing up her hair, the vast importance of the day set in and emotions ran high.
I distracted Jen’s mind snapping some fun creative shots, and then found Ricky and did the same. By the ceremony time everyone was ready and collected, and as Jen came down the elevator waving her best “beauty queen” wave to her captive audience Ricky’s smile was splattered all over his face with joy.

For the reception Jen and Ricky changed into traditional Chinese apparel and tears showed in Jen’s eyes during some of the best maid of honor and best man speeches I ever heard. Then came laughter tears when they realized they couldn’t reach the cake on the top of the cupcake display to cut it. Followed by shock they really did smoosh the cake on each other’s faces…very blue cake…and a fun, fun dancing and partying into the night.

Sweet Jennifer and Ricky – love ya guys!!! Congratulations and a happy ever after!!!

Hinrichs Wedding

Kristin shoes were a great start for the day…these bright pink shoes combined with the elegant dress she wore were a perfect match – promising an elegant evening with some surprising twists – and the evening lived up to its promise.

After the pre-wedding butterflies were met by a beautiful ceremony, the bridal party took a few minutes to goof off in front of the church. I noticed the afternoon light coming in from the church window and asked Kristin if she was up to climbing up the stairs. She was a trooper about it, and we got some amazing window shots.

The reception was at the Orlando Art Museum which was all decked up with gorgeous flowers. Kristin’s father’s band got together for this very special occasion and played some tunes to the joy of the wedding guests. Kristin was raised in Egypt, and had her “Egypt group” of friends there dancing by her side and having a blast. Some goofing off in the photo booth, and a portrait in front of the Chiulli brilliant glass sculpture ( I wasn’t going to pass up this opportunity) and the couple was given a rose peddle farewell.

Yes, the bright pink shoes definitely lived up to their expectations…Mabruk Kristin & Dieter!

August 19th 2008, as we are awaiting on hurrican Fay to hit I got an email from Kristin that brightened my day:"The pictures are AWESOME! I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM! Thank you so much!"
