Crupi Wedding

Cami was cool as a cucumber when I walked into the Hilton bridal suit where she was getting ready. It was only when her father saw her for the first time that she started tearing up, realizing the big day is really here. But she quickly wiped away her tears, and kept on smiling – she couldn’t wait to be married to Frank!

Frank at his room was nervously pasting, waiting for the call telling him “it’s time”. His son and daughter by his side, they were all joking and enjoying the morning as the kids were helping daddy get ready.

Ceremony went without a hitch at a beautifully decorated ball room at the Hilton, and Mr. & Mrs. Crupi floated on air out of there, to go see the reception room for the first time. The look on Frank’s face when he saw the groom’s cake Cami surprised him with…

As the reception begun with the couple’s first dance, Frank & Cami couldn’t take their eyes of each other. They enjoyed the cake cutting (“I don’t want to cut mine” joked Frank), the “chicken dance” (a surprise from Cami to Frank), and a lavender farewell out of that magical evening…all went by in a blur of joy, tears and wrapped in lots of love. And off they were to their honeymoon!

One last note: This beautiful wedding was coordinated and executed by Andrea Constantinou from the Hilton. http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/hotels/weddingindex.jhtml;jsessionid=RPHQ2QLAX4TGGCSGBIU2VCQ?ctyhocn=ORLDWHH

It is always such a pleasure working with her; I am going to miss her very much.

Young Wedding

Coming all the way from England to sunny Florida, Lucy & Ross were not expecting hurricane Ike as one of their wedding guest. Well, it turns out Ike had a better wedding to crash in Texas, but thanks to his outer bands it was still quite a windy day. So windy in fact that David, the florist, had to tape down the flowers and isle runner. So windy that during the Palace’s roof top ceremony Lucy’s veil was furiously blowing in the wind so frantically I was concerned she was going to go airborne.

Thankfully the ceremony went without a hitch, as did the rest of their special day. We went to the Disney Polynesian Resort for some beach portraits, and continued to the Disney Contemporary Resort for a delicious rooftop dinner.

Surrounded by their 23 guests who flew in from England to share the wedding bliss Lucy & Ross were showered with love. Speeches were made, gifts were exchanged, and the beautiful castle cake was cut. For the cherry on top, we all went out to the balcony watching the fireworks show over the Disney Magic Kingdom Palace.

Spending the day with the Young’s and their extended family was a joy. As it happened often (yet I still sincerely appreciate it every time), they treated me like family, and I enjoyed sharing some laughs with Lucy’s father, two brothers and their girlfriends whom I was sitting with at the dinner table. And when dad invited me to come to England to photograph Lucy & Ross’s reception everyone was laughing as I answered I can come, but expect jewelry! (Read the Johnston wedding blog for the jewelry reference).

Just another beautiful day at the magic kingdom, where all your dreams come true, and Lucy & Ross became Mr. & Mrs. Young. Happy Ever after!

Tori & Herb pregnancy

I photographed Tori & Herb’s wedding June 9th 2007. It was a beautiful wedding at the Citrus Club; they ordered one of my very artistic coffee table books, and we said our goodbyes. I was so excited when Tori called a few months ago to share the great news she was pregnant, and we set up a pregnancy portrait session.

Tori wanted an indoor session, and I suggested both her and Herb wear Herb’s button down shirts. That way we will undo some of the buttons on the shirt Tori wears to show the belly.

The session was easy and fun, had the fan going full blast on Tori to keep her comfortable under the hot lights, and we were joking around enjoying the moment. Since Tori & Herb are some of my “veteran” clients, they know how to follow my posing directions, and smile naturally – what can I say – practice makes perfect!

Now we cannot wait for the baby to be here! Coming this November to a blog near you…baby Telfer first portrait…
